Modifications to COVID-19 regulations for arrivals and returnees from outside Da Nang
The Da Nang government has introduced the city’s enhanced measures to prevent re-introduction of COVID-19 from people entering and returning to the city from other parts of the country. Modifications have been made to the city’s COVID-19 regulations for these people to reduce the chance of people bringing coronavirus into the city.
Here are different rules which will be applied to people entering or returning to Da Nang from different alert level areas across the country.
You must fill out a health declaration form either on Vietnam Health Declaration apps co-developed by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Information and Communications, or on Da Nang- developed apps, namely Danang Smart City and khaibaoyte.danang gov.vn before travel. You must complete a health control form on these apps and obtain your QR Code, to show it upon arrival in Da Nang.
Compliance with the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health and COVID-19 guidelines from national and municipal governments is compulsory for entry into Da Nang. You will be required to get free rapid antigen test for COVID-19 at entry points in Da Nang if you have symptoms of coronavirus before entering the city.
If you arrive in or return to Da Nang from other Vietnamese localities, you must report your arrival and home return to local authorities and medical stations where you are staying.
Self-monitoring for 7 days and compliance with the city’s COVID-19 guidelines are required for persons entering or returning to Da Nang from localities at alert level 1, including areas with the highest number of COVID-19 cases such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An. COVID-19 testing requirement is compulsory for these people, and they must undergo coronavirus tests on the first and the seventh dates of home quarantine. In particular, COVID-19 RT-PCR test is made mandatory for these people on the seventh date of home quarantine.
14-day home quarantine rule will be applied to people coming from areas at alert level 2, and the COVID-19 community taskforce and healthcare workers at their places of residence will keep a close watch on them during their self-quarantine period. COVID-19 testing requirement is compulsory for these people, and they must undergo coronavirus tests on the first, the seventh and the fourteenth dates of home quarantine. In particular, COVID-19 PCR test is made mandatory for these people on the fourteenth date of home quarantine.
All people entering and returning to Da Nang from areas at alert level 3 and level 4, and lockdown areas, must present a proof of negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
If you do not have proof of a negative test result, you must undergo rapid antigen testing at entry points in Da Nang before entering the city, and you must pay for COVID-19 testing.
14-day home quarantine rule will be applied to people coming from areas at alert level 3, and the COVID-19 community taskforce and healthcare workers at their places of residence will keep a close watch on them during their self-quarantine period. All people entering and returning to Da Nang from areas at alert level 4 and lockdown areas mustl undergo 7-day home quarantine upon arrival if they have a proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 infection in the past six months. COVID-19 testing requirement is compulsory for these people, and they must undergo coronavirus tests on the first and the seventh dates of home quarantine. In particular, COVID-19 PCR test is made mandatory for these people on the seventh date of home quarantine. In addition, 14-day home quarantine will be applied to those who have received just one dose. COVID-19 testing requirement is compulsory for these people, and they must undergo coronavirus tests on the first, the seventh and the fourteenth dates of home quarantine. In particular, COVID-19 PCR test is made mandatory for these people on the fourteenth date of home quarantine.
If arrivals and returnees are unable to quarantine at home, they must stay in managed isolation in a designated facility or a hotel and they must pay for accommodation. If people entering and returning to Da Nang are older people, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, and younger people below 18 years, they will undergo home quarantine or will be placed under quarantine in designated facilities (if required) with their caregivers in line with the city’s regulations .
If groups travelling to Da Nang for business purpose, drivers of vehicles carrying goods or passengers into the city from areas at alert level 3 and level 4, or being put under medical isolation, stay in the city for less than 24 hours, they must present a proof of negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival, or certificate of receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, this rule will be only applied to them if their means of transport do not stop or park in COVID-19 areas affected during their journey to Da Nang.
14-day home quarantine and COVID-19 testing are made mandatory for arrivals who stay in Da Nang for more than 24 hours. They must undergo coronavirus tests on the first, the seventh and the fourteenth dates of home quarantine. In particular, COVID-19 PCR test is made mandatory for these people on the fourteenth date of home quarantine.
In addition, they must present a proof of negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen test taken within 72 hours of arrival. If they do not have proof of a negative test result, they must undergo rapid antigen testing at entry points in Da Nang before entering the city, and you must pay for COVID-19 testing.
If you wish to leave Da Nang but have yet to complete their quarantine period, you must ask for permission from the health agency in a bid to adopt appropriate measures to protect the safety of yourselves and their wider communities and mitigate the risk of virus spread.
The Da Nang government is asking authorities at local level to keep a close watch on people entering and returning from areas with the highest number of COVID-19 cases such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An. The focus must be on conducting coronavirus testing for those who face a higher risk of potential exposure to the virus and residents living in places where people return home from areas at alert level 3 and level 4. In addition, the heed must be paid on early detecting suspected cases in a bid to timely isolate them, as well as taking drastic action to effectively control COVID-19 outbreaks.
The city will impose harsh penalties on those who break quarantine and testing rules along other COVID-19 related regulations.
