Phase 3 of COVID-19 screening program rolled out in Da Nang

The Da Nang government has announced that phase 3 of COVID-19 screening program will be rolled out across the city. The main focus of asymptomatic testing (screening program) is to identify individuals who may be incubating infection, to isolate them promptly from the community, and initiate contact tracing to identify individuals who may have been exposed. This helps reduce the risk of COVID-19 in the community.

Accordingly, mass testing campaign, the so-called “One door-one test” will reach 50% of the city’s total households.     

People coming from other parts of the country who have arrived in Da Nang since October 1 but the quarantine rules does not apply to these people, students and teachers who have returned to Da Nang from other localities since late September, those who often go out to work or attend events, and do shopping, and people at greater risk of exposure to COVID-19 should take top priority for coronavirus testing.

COVID-19 testing will not require those who have been tested within the past 72 hours.

Under the city’s plan, a combined total of 6 phases of COVID-19 screening program will be rolled out in the city, starting from September 23 and ending on December 16.

Phase 1 of the city’s COVID-19 screening program ran from September 23 to 25, during which, one case was detected in the alley K368 Hoang Dieu Street, Binh Thuan Ward, Hai Chau District in157,572 random samples across the city.

Phase 2 ran from September 30 to October 2, the sampling team collected samples of 151,381 people and all were found negative for COVID-19.
