10 community cases of COVID-19, 11 in managed isolation in Da Nang on Nov. 8

Da Nang recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, November 8, 10 of them were found in the community, seven in designated centralised quarantine facilities, two during at-home quarantine and one each ata  locked-down residential site and a quarantine checkpoint set up at the city’s gateways, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said in its latest bulletin.

Specifically, nine out of the 10 community cases logged on Monday were recorded in Son Tra District only, with six infections c related to the infection chain at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc Street, An Hai Bac Ward.

In detail, there were five patients who reside on the streets of Le Phung Hieu, Nguyen Tuan and Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District were detected via the ongoing mass testing for COVID-19 applied to household representatives, also known as ‘ One door- One test’ campaign.

The remaining patient related to the infection cluster at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc is a resident on Nai Hien Dong 9 Street, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District. He tested positive for the virus at the Da Nang-based199 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security following the displaying of some suspicious symptoms.

There were three patients, dwelling on the streets of Nai Nghia 7, Nai Thinh 2 and Duong Van Nga respectively, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District. Their source of infection has not identified till date.

The last community-acquired case recorded on the day is an inhabitant on Nguyen Pham Tuan Street, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District. He tested positive for the virus at the Son Tra District Medical Centre following the displaying of some suspicious symptoms. His transmission source has also remained unknown so far.

Of special note, the infection cluster found at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District has recorded 10 cases on the day, bringing its total infection 36.

For the time being, two out of the total seven districts in Da Nang are witnessing active coronavirus cases with a risk of further community transmission, namely Son Tra with 13 cases and Ngu Hanh Son with two.

In particular, 15 out of the 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday were recorded in Son Tra District, of which nine in Nai Hien Dong Ward, five in An Hai Bac Ward and one in An Hai Dong Ward.

Ngu Hanh Son District recorded four cases with one in Hoa Hai Ward and three in Hoa Quy Ward. In addition, there were two cases returning from other pandemic-hit localities nationwide.

The district-level authorities have set up 30 completely blockaded areas, putting 309 households with a combined total of 1,370 people under lockdown.

Da Nang’s COVID-19 infection tally has till date reached 4,819 since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started here.
