4 community cases of COVID-19, 17 in managed isolation in Da Nang on Nov. 6
Da Nang recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, November 6, four of them were found in the community, two in designated centralised quarantine facilities, 13 in mandatory at-home quarantine and the remaining two at quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said in its latest bulletin.
Below is key information on the five community infections:
The first patient is a resident in Qua Giang 2 Village, Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District. He came to the Cam Le Medical Centre for examinations due to the displaying of some suspicious and he tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 here.
His source of infection has remained unknown.
The second is an inhabitant in Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District. She is a medical staffer of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department of the Hai Chau District Medical Centre.
The results of the initial epidemiological investigation showed that she was linked to the aforementioned community case.
The third is a resident dwelling on Do Anh Han Street, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District. This patient came to the Son Tra Medical Centre for examinations due to the displaying of some suspicious and he tested positive for the virus here.
The patient was confirmed to be exposed to the infection chain on Nguyen Trung Truc Street in the same ward.
The last one is a dweller at K74 Le Dinh Ly, Vinh Trung Ward, Thanh Khe District. He was confirmed to contract the virus via a test conducted at the private Hoan My Da Nang Hospital.
According to an epidemiological investigation, he came into contact with a previously- confirmed active case.
All of the new cases logged across the city on Saturday belong to four infection chains which are at a high risk of further spreading.
In detail, the infection cluster found at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District has recorded four cases on the day, bringing its total infection 18.
The chain of infection at K250 Nguyen Cong Tru, Son Tra District has documented 12 new cases on the same day. Ass accumulated till date, 15 cases have been recorded.
The chain of transmission linked to the patient in Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District recorded three cases.
Since October 20, Da Nang has logged 29 patients who were returnees from other pandemic-hit cities and provinces.
For the time being, four out of the total seven districts in Da Nang are witnessing active coronavirus cases with a risk of further community transmission, namely Son Tra with 11 cases, Hoa Vang with six, Lien Chieu and Thanh Khe with one each.
Regarding the newly recorded cases, the district-level authorities have set up 24 completely blockaded areas, putting 260 households with a combined total of 1,275 people under lockdown.
On the same day, Da Nang received 75 returnees from other pandemic-struck localities nationwide.
Currently, 18 returnees are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the local authorities- designated centralised facilities, three are under managed isolation at medical facilities and 601 are self-quarantining at home.
A combined total of 717 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 15 centralised facilities.
Da Nang’s COVID-19 infection tally has till date reached 4,780 since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started here.
