500 police officers and citizens donate blood
The Da Nang Department of Public Security, on November 4, held a blood donation campaign to collect blood to use in case of emergencies and treatment in public hospitals across the city.
The campaign attracted a combined total of 500 police officers and residents.
According to Major Ho Dinh Tri, Secretary of the Youth Union organisation of the Da Nang Public Security Department, over recent years, the Department-launched blood donation campaigns have drawn a large number of police officers and volunteers citywide. As a result, the rate of blood donation has been increasing year by year, and thousands of blood units have been collected, making a significant contribution to promptly saving the lives of many patients suffering from severe diseases.
“In 2020 alone, more than 1,400 units of blood were collected from donors, thereby helping to replenish the community blood supply for local public hospitals and for the city’s fight against coronavirus.
