Accordingly, the municipal government gave a nod to the establishment of a protection corridor with a total length of coastline of 73.9 km (average calculated from a many years' time series considering the nodal tide), consisting of 21 areas in 13 wards in 4 coastal districts.

Specifically, Lien Chieu District has 6 areas having a coastal protection corridor with a total length of 20,338km, Thanh Khe District having 3 areas with a total length of 3,584 km, Son Tra District having 8 areas with a total length of 38,884km and Ngu Hanh Son District having 4 areas with a total length of 11,048km.

This list clearly outlines the main characteristics affecting the establishment of the coastal protection corridor such as shore characteristics, erosion situation, ecosystem and landscape, as well as the purposes and requirements for coastal protection, including ecosystem protection and coastal erosion mitigation.
