Da Nang logs 5 COVID-19 cases in the community, 9 in managed isolation on Nov. 5
Da Nang recorded 14 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, November 5, five of them were found in the community, three in designated centralised quarantine facilities, four in mandatory at-home quarantine and one each in a blockaded area and a quarantine checkpoint set up at the city’s gateway,the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.
Below is key information on the five community infections:
The first case involved a resident of Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District. This patient came to the private Tam Tri Hospital for examinations due to the displaying of some suspicious and he tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 here. Through tracing, the patient was related to the infection chain on Nguyen Trung Truc Street, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District).
The second was an inhabitant in Nam Duong Ward, Hai Chau District. He tested positive for the virus at the Thien Nhan Clinic. Epidemiological investigation showed that the patient was linked to the infection chain in the neigbouring province of Quang Nam.
The third is a resident at K250 Nguyen Cong Tru, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District. This patient went to the Da Nang General Hospital for regular health checkups and then tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 her. The patient's source of infection has remained unknown.
The fourth is a dweller at K72 Phan Ba Phien, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, having tested positive for the virus at the Son Tra District Medical Centre. According to a epidemiological investigation, the patient had exposed to the infection chain on Nguyen Trung Truc Street, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District.
The last one is a man hailing from the southern province of Binh Duong. He himself drove from the coronavirus-stricken Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang. He came in-person to a medical facility for COVID-19 testing due to the showing of some symptoms and then had a positive test result here.
A reported that two out of the total seven districts have recorded cases at risk of spreading to the community, namely Son Tra with nine cases and Hai Chau with two cases.
On the same day, Da Nang handled 67 returnees from other pandemic-struck localities nationwide.
Currently, 18 returnees are undergoing mandatory quarantine at the local authorities- designated centralised facilities, three are under managed isolation at medical facilities and 737 are self-quarantining at home.
The city now has 14 blockaded sites, putting 145 households with a combined total of 510 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 488 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 10 centralised facilities.
Up to now, 1,166,997 out of the already received 1,316,106 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.
Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 902,534 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 264,463 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.
Da Nang’s COVID-19 infection tally has till date reached 4,759 since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started here.
