The Lien Chieu District Police is continuously conducting investigation into illegal gambling in the form of online football betting held at a café.

On the evening of October 3, officers and men from the Lien Chieu District Police conducted an surprise raid over the A Thinh coffee shop located at 114 Dong Ke and caught red-handed a group of suspects, residing in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District and Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District, organising football betting for 14 gamblers.

Law enforcement forces confiscated exhibits including 2 computer rigs connected to overseas betting sites, nearly VND70 million in cash, US$3,304 and many gambling support items.

It is known that the aforementioned offenders had participated in illegal betting for a long time, especially during international football tournaments.
