Da Nang reports 5 new community cases of COVID-19, 21 in managed isolation on Nov. 10

Da Nang recorded 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, November 10, five of which were found in the community, eight in the city-designated centralised quarantine facilities, three during mandatory at-home quarantine and seven in locked-down residential sites and the remaining three at quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.

Below is need-to-know information on the five community cases:

The first community patient logged on Wednesday was a man dwelling on Truong Chinh Street, Hoa Phat Ward, Cam Le District. He drove en route from Lao Bao in the central province of Quang Tri to the Tien Sa Port, Da Nang. He went in-person to Cam Le District-based private Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital for COVID-19 testing following the display of some suspicious symptoms.

The second was male resident in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District. He had previously returned to Da Nang from another province. The man was diagnosed with COVID-19 via the ongoing mass testing applied to household representatives, also known as ‘One door- One test’ campaign.

The third was a girl living in residential group No. 50, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, who had previously visited the An Duc Clinic where some active cases had been found before. She was also confirmed to have contracted the virus via the ‘One door- One test’ campaign.

The fourth was a man dwelling in residential group No. 50, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward. He had previously sprayed disinfectants against COVID-19 at the An Duc Clinic and his infection was detected via the ‘One door- One test’ campaign.

The last one was a woman living in residential group No. 33, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District. She intentionally came to the Son Tra District Medical Centre for COVID-19 testing following the display of some suspicious symptoms.

Her source of infection has not been identified till date.

Of special note, 15 out of the total 26 cases of COVID-19 logged on Wednesday are at risk of further community transmission, concentrated in three out of the seven districts in the city, namely Son Tra, Lien Chieu and Cam Le.

Amongst the current eight infection clusters citywide, that found at 103 Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District has recorded five cases on the day, bringing its total infection 48 till date.

Amongst the local districts, Son Tra recorded the highest infections today, with 13 cases, of which nine in Nai Hien Dong Ward, and two each in An Hai Bac and Tho Quang wards.

On the same day, a combined total of 47,669 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 45,703 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

There are currently 39 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 500 households with a combined total of 2,157 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 1,133 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 18 centralised facilities.

Da Nang’s COVID-19 infection tally has till date reached 4,877 since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started here.
