Fisherman discovers 30 mines left at sea
The Son Tra Border Guard Station in Da Nang and other functional forces have just received a number of explosives picked up by a fisherman during his boat’s recent fishing trip in the national waters.
Pham Tan Dai from Pho Trung Village, Nghia An Commune, the central coastal province of Quang Ngai, the owner of fishing boat QNg 98231TS said that his boat was conducting fishing activities at sea on November 4 when he pulled the net containing an iron box.
Opening the box, the fisherman found 30 rusted iron lumps inside suspected of being mines. In a prompt fashion, he returned to the Tho Quang fishing wharf to hand all of the findings over to the competent authority at the Son Tra Border Guard Station.
The authorities have always warned people to inform relevant offices immediately if they discover grenades or munitions at sea.
