Further heavy rain forecast for Central Viet Nam into Nov. 30

Central Viet Nam is bracing for more heavy rainfall due to the strong influence of an intense cold front and easterly winds, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has said.

The parts from Thua Thien- Hue to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, could continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall from Saturday afternoon into next Tuesday, November 30 with possibility of very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Thunderstorms can produce strong winds, lightning, hail and tornadoes, the regional forecasters warned.

The total rainfall amount will be 100mm-250mm in common in Thua Thien- Hue while more than 350mm of rain could fall in some places.

Rainfall warnings have also been issued for a widespread soaking rain that could dump as much as 100mm-250mm of rain in Da Nang, and even more than 300mm in some places.

Quang Nam could receive between 150mm and 350mm of rain, with more than 500mm possible in some places.

As much as 200mm-400mm of rain could fall in Quang Ngai, and even more than 500mm in some places.
