Viet Nam reports 7,988 new COVID-19 cases on November 8

An additional 7,988 infections of COVID-19, including 34 imported cases, were recorded in Vietnam on November 8, bringing the nationwide tally to 976,672.

Compared to the previous day, the number of daily cases has increased nationally by 323.

Ho Chi Minh City reported the highest number of infections with 1,316, followed by Dong Nai province with 969, and Binh Duong province with 823.

The capital city of Ha Noi logged 111 new cases.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 3,390 patients nationwide are in serious conditions, with 306 requiring invasive ventilation and 13 on life support (ECMO).

On the day, the country saw 67 deaths from the disease. The death toll now hits 22,598.

A total of 1,073 recoveries were reported on November 8, taking the total number of patients given the all-clear to 841,475.

More than 90.68 million vaccine doses have been administered to date, with over 29.33 million people having received two doses.
