Therefore, Mrs Yen highlighted the need to take the most effective measures to reduce the risk of cross-infection in local locked down areas and contain new local outbreaks.

The health agency was tasked to issue the guidance for screening for early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in line with the new regulations of the Ministry of Health.

Mrs Yen stressed the need for the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to urgently deploy support packages for those affected by the COVID-19 crisis to help them get through tough times.

She said that it is necessary to maximize available resources to treat COVID-19 patients who have mild symptoms of COVID-19 at home to reduce the burden on local healthcare system amid high cases, as well as provide effective treatment for hospitalized patients in an attempt to speed up recovery, reduce the severity of symptoms and prevent the need for hospital admission in people at risk of serious illness from COVID-19.

139 additional COVID-19 patients were discharged from Da Nang’s hospitals on Wednesday. There are 1,711 remaining active cases of COVID-19 that are being treated in healthcare facilities.

Da Nang has till date recorded 5,917 cases of COVID-19 after it has faced COVID-19 resurgence since October 16.
