However, Mrs Yen stated that Son Tra District has still recorded the highest number of confirmed cases in Da Nang, thereby urging the district authorities to take even more drastic action to contain new outbreaks and stop the spread of the virus.

The municipal Department of Health was tasked to ramp up efforts to give a third or "booster" dose to all over-18s in Da Nang in an attempt to provide them with even more protection against falling seriously ill from COVID-19. High priority should be given to offering booster vaccinations to healthcare workers along with vulnerable and high risk groups, Mrs Yen emphasized.

Vice Chairwoman Yen remarked that the city has planned to deliver life-saving COVID-19 jab to more than 5,500 people in final push. Till date, more than 5,100 people have got their first doses during the ongoing vaccination campaign and the remainder will receive the vaccine within today, December 28.

Doctor Ton That Thanh, the Director of the municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that 213 more people were released from Da Nang’s hospitals on Monday, December 27, after being treated for COVID-19.
