Da Nang is hunting for an overseas Vietnamese woman who intentionally escaped from a local COVID-19 centralised quarantine camp.

As reported, at 3:40 p.m. on December 11, the Military School of Military Region 5 located in Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang received 51 Vietnamese nationals returning from Saudi Arabia in a repatriation flight touching down at the city’s airport a day earlier.

At 4:10 p.m. on the same day, taking advantage of going to the toilet, Ms. Chamaléa Thi Thap whose hometown is in Phuoc Chinh Commune, Bac Ai District, the south-central Vietnamese province of Ninh Thuan escaped from the centralised quarantine facility.

The municipal Police Department requested all functional local agencies to trace down the quarantine escapee as soon as possible for her handover to the Cam Le District Police for strict handling in accordance with laws.
