Da Nang logs additional 154 cases of COVID-19 on Dec.31
Da Nang documented an additional 154 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, December 31, of which 80 cases were acquired in the community and the remainder were logged under managed isolation.
Out of the 80 community-acquired patients documented on Thursday, there were two employees each at the Da Nang Post Office and the Viet Hoa company, seven symptomatic cases found via tests conducted by medical staff, nine infections found via rapid tests conducted by themselves and four logged at the Da Nang International Airport.
Meanwhile, the rest were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at some public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.
In addition to the detection of the aforementioned community transmission cases, the city discovered 74 infections in managed isolation: three at a centralised quarantine facility, 61 during at-home quarantine and 10 in locked-down residential sites.
Of the day's newly count, 132 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.
Also on Friday, a combined total of 17,035 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 15,170 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 974,313 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 956,942 have got two doses, and 3,319 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 370 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 751 households with a combined total of 3,844 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 338 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 13 centralised facilities.
The day's new infections has pushed Da Nang’s total tally to 6,256 since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community transmission, 210 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide.
