The Thanh Khe District Police in Da Nang have recently temporarily seized more than 1,200 cigars and about 2,800 packages of foreign cigarettes of all kinds, all without any invoices and documents proving their origin.

Previously, during their surprise raid into a warehouse owned by an express delivery business located on Hai Phong Street, the local police had discovered more than 50 packages of smuggled Marlboro cigarettes whose recipient was a 38-year-old resident in Hai Chau
District.

On the same day, the police then administratively examined the aforementioned man’s house and discovered about 2,300 packs of cigarettes of all kinds and more than 1,200 cigars.

The man admitted having bought the above-mention products from a black market for resale in a bid to earn hefty profits.

To avoid the detection by the police, the offender had goods delivered to his place of residence through delivery service providers.

The case is still under investigation.
