Da Nang reports 185 new cases of COVID-19 on Dec.30

Da Nang documented an additional 185 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, December 30, of which 84 cases were acquired in the community and the remainder were logged under managed isolation.

Out of the 84 community-acquired patients documented on Thursday, there were six employees for the VINACONEX company, two employees at the Huu Nghi (Friendship) company, one member of the COVID-19 prevention and control force in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Quy Ward and one candidate sitting for a test to select permanent public servants for the Lien Chieu District education

Meanwhile, the rest were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at some public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.

In addition to the detection of the aforementioned community transmission cases, the city discovered 101 infections in managed isolation: 10 at a centralised quarantine facility, 80 during at-home quarantine and 11 in locked-down residential sites.

Of the day's newly count, 149 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.

Also on Thursday, a combined total of 13,317 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 10,916 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 971,992 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 955,044 have got two doses, and 614 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 393 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 922 households with a combined total of 4,584 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 426 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 14 centralised facilities.

The day's new infections has pushed Da Nang’s total tally to 6,102 since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community transmission, 202 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide.
