Da Nang's new cases of COVID-19 on Dec.29 total 180
Da Nang documented an additional 180 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, December 29, of which 72 cases were acquired in the community and the remainder were logged under managed isolation.
Out of the 72 community-acquired patients documented on Wednesday, there were two employees at SEADANANG, one trader operating at the Hoa Cuong wholesale market, one member of the COVID-19 prevention and control force in Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District, one sanitation worker at the Da Nang General Hospital and two medical staffers at the Da Nang Eye Hospital.
Meanwhile, the rest were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at some public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.
In addition to the detection of the aforementioned community transmission cases, the city discovered 108 infections in managed isolation: two at a centralised quarantine facility, 82 during at-home quarantine and 24 in locked-down residential sites.
Of the day's newly count, 144 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.
Also on Wednesday, a combined total of 14,698 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 13,474 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 971,779 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 953,770 have got two doses, and 614 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 420 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 1,062 households with a combined total of 5,147 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 407 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 14 centralised facilities.
The latest infections has pushed Da Nang’s total tally to 5,917 since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community transmission, 202 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide.
