Farmers in Da Nang face crop losses, the city faces landslide risk after heavy rains
Over the past 4 days, Da Nang has experienced prolonged heavy rain and the total rainfall amount was 724mm, 340mm, 369mm and 306mm in the Son Tra Mountain, Luong Stream, Tuy Loan, and Hoa Son respectively.
The Da Nang Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and Search and Rescue has warned that flash flood and landslide alerts remain in place for steep slopes, riverside and streamside areas as more moderate to heavy rainfall continues to hit Da Nang.

The Da Nang Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and Search and Rescue on Tuesday evening said that landslides have occurred in some areas of the Son Tra Peninsula due to heavy rains.
The Committee said with continuous heavy rain, landslide warnings have been issued for such areas as 14G Highway, the La Son - Tuy Loan section of Ho Chi Minh Trail, some areas in Pho Nam and Ta Lang villages in Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District, Hoa Hiep Bac Ward in Lien Chieu District, and the Son Tra Mountain in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District.
Heavy rains that triggered floods and landslides have devastated more than 1,500 hectares of the winter- spring sown crop, 1,390 hectares in Hoa Vang District.
In addition, 43.3 hectares of peanuts and kidney beans and 4ha of vegetables have been destroyed.
The Da Nang Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and Search and Rescue is urging authorities at local level and relevant agencies to take proactive and necessary mitigation measures in response to northeast winds and heavy rains.
