The Da Nang People’s Committee has recently granted emergency authorization for the Da Nang Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects to develop two COVID-19 field hospitals in the city at a total cost of more than VND10.8 billion.

As planned, the municipal government will provide over VND3.9 billion in funding for the management board to convert the Student Hall of Residence in the west of the city located at 507 Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, into the COVID-19 field hospital No.1.

The 1,500-bed field hospital will be used for receiving and treating asymptomatic or mild patients with COVID-19 infection. In case of need, this field hospital can be able to expand the operation scale to 1,700 beds. Of which, 1,500 beds are designated for asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 patients, whilst the remaining 200 beds are used for COVID-19 patients with more serious symptoms.

Meanwhile, more than VND6.9 billion from the city budget will be spent on temporarily turning the Student Hall of Residence in the west of the city positioned at 8 Ha Van Tinh Street, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, into the 2,000-bed field hospital.
