Da Nang government has approved to provide VND1,367 billion in funding to implement a project on resolving pollution at inner city lakes with the aim to improve the environment surrounding lakes, thereby contributing to the building of an environmentally friendly Da Nang.

Of which, VND109 billion will come from the budget dedicated for the city’s environmental projects, whilst the remaining VND1,258 billion will be from the local basic construction investment capital. In addition, the city will mobilise more ODA capital and other domestic and foreign investment sources so as to effectively carry out the project.

Specifically, during the 2021-2025 period, the city will pilot the treatment of polluted lake water by inoculants. Also, heed will be paid to developing a pollution treatment process and maintaining the quality of lake water after treatment.

Emphasis will be on cleaning sludge from the bottoms of lakes of Do Xu, Phan Lang, Trung Nghia 1, Trung Nghia 2, E1, Phuoc Ly and Nguyen Phuoc Tan, and a lake in the  March 29 Park.

Sewer pipes will be installed at sluice gates of lakes of Nguyen Phuoc Tan, Area E1, Bau Sau, Phuoc Ly, Trung Nghia 2 and Xuan Hoa A in the districts of Thanh Khe, Hai Chau and Lien Chieu.

With regard to lakes at risk of pollution, the city will propose a project on an automatic and continuous surface water quality monitoring system for the Green Lake, as well as a project on installing separate sewers, building embankments and improving natural landscape around lakes of Bau Tram, E2, Bau Gia Thuong, Ba Tung and Green. Also, many specific solutions will be made for water exchange in dry season for a lake in the Hai Chau Village Communal House.
