973 new coronavirus cases reported in Da Nang on Jan. 22
Da Nang logged 973 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, January 22, of which 647 were acquired in the community, four in centralised quarantine facilities, 315 during at-home quarantine and the seven remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 355 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 252 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/ commune-levelled medical stations.
Also, seven traders operating at local markets, six employees working at many local production and business establishments, five people undergoing periodic tests, one local medical worker and one member of COVID-19 prevention and control task group were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.
As for the remaining community-based infections, 20 returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide were found to be infected with the virus.
Of the day’s count, 897 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 185 in Thanh Khe, 168 in Son Tra, 149 in Lien Chieu, 148 in Cam Le (138 in Hai Chau, 74 in Hoa Vang and 35 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Saturday also witnessed a combined total of 8,337 residents across the city have their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 6,276 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,546 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,019 have got two doses, and 208,016 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 272 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 991 households with a combined total of 3,844 people under lockdown.
A total of 508 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in eight centralised facilities.
