Central Viet Nam braces for more rain

Central Viet Nam is bracing for a cold and wet week, with weather warnings for scattered showers in the parts from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, from Monday night, January 10, with the likelihood of moderate to heavy rainfall at some places, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

From Tuesday night, strong winds at level 3 may reach the parts from Quang Binh to Thua Thien- Hue, and by the coast they could find high wind at level 4. Temperatures in the plains of these areas can expect lows of 17-19 degrees Celsius and are likely fall further to 14-16 degrees Celsius in their mountainous areas.

The parts from Da Nang to Quang Ngai will see chilly temperatures at night into the morning hours with temperatures expected to drop to 18-20 degrees Celsius in in the plains of these areas, and 17-19 in their mountainous areas.

The offshore areas stretching from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, could see increasing northeast winds at levels 5 to 6 and the gusts reaching level 7, as well as experience rough seas with waves as high as 1.5m-3m.

The waters of the Hoang Sa ((Paracel) Archipelago will witness northeast winds at level 6, and gustiness of level 7, and experience rough seas with waves as high as 2-4m high.
