Police in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District have broken up an illegal drug trafficking network, led by 28-year-old Phan Thanh Vu who is residing in Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Chau District, and seized a large amount of drugs, police sources said on Friday morning.

Earlier, on Thursday afternoon, the Drug-related Crime Investigation Team under the Hai Chau District Police Office caught red-handed Vu illegally selling drugs to two men, identified as L.D.N (24 years old) and T.D.P (34 years old), both residing in Da Nang. The three subjects then tested positive for drugs.

The functional force also conducted search into Vu's place of residence and seized 2 packs of meth (about 100 grams in total), 3 packs of ketamine (about 15 grams in total) and 5 ecstasy pills.

The room where Vu performed the act of buying and selling drugs is located in a small alley on Hai Son Street. To get inside the room, he had to go through another person's house. All drug trading transactions have been carried out through a chink in a small door slit.

The case is still under further investigation
