Da Nang adds 958 cases to its COVID-19 tally on Jan.24

Da Nang logged 958 new coronavirus infections on Monday, January 24, of which 716 caught the pathogen in the community and the remaining 242 ones were found during at-home quarantine in locked-down residential sites.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 448 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 244 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.

As for the remaining community-based infections, 11 traders operating at the Cam Le Market, and 13 employees working at many local production and business establishments were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.

Of the day’s caseload, 926 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts: 185 in Son Tra, 181 in Thanh Khe, 153 in Hai Chau, 136 in Cam Le, 126 in Lien Chieu, 101 in Hoa Vang and 44 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Sunday also witnessed a combined total of 7,211 residents across the city have their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 3,604 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,657 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,243 have got two doses, and 210,533 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 266 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 970 households with a combined total of 3,776 people under lockdown.

A total of 99 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in six centralised facilities.
