Mrs Yen pointed out that the COVID-19 situation remains complicated in Da Nang as COVID-19 cases continue to increase rapidly across the city and most of which are likely to likely to spread infection to others. She warned of possible big jump in cases in the coming time with upcoming Tet Festival set to drive up numbers, urging local leadership and relevant agencies to take drastic measures to stop the spread of the virus with a focus on quickly identifying high-risk areas linked to new cases and conducting COVID-9 testing in a fast and effective way for residents in these venues to find all hidden cases.

Mrs Yen agreed to a proposal to reduce the lockdown period on high-risk areas from 14 days to 7 days. In addition, authorities at local level were tasked to take appropriate measures to effectively control the spread of COVID-19.

She also highlighted the need to speed up to treat COVID-19 patients at home and transfer those who are unable to quarantine at home to recover to hospital for treatment.

The health agency was urged to ensure sufficient medical supplies for the city’s fight against COVID-19.

The Da Nang Center for Disease Control and Prevention will soon announce results from genomic sequencing of 13 imported COVID-19 cases that are being treated at Hoa Vang District Medical Centre.

Till date, a total of 1,980,891 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the city. Overall, 975,927 people have received at least one dose, 958,421 people have been fully vaccinated, and 46,543 have received their third shot.
