The Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment has recently approved the implementation of a set of indicators to assess environmental protection in centrally-governed cities and provinces nationwide.

Accordingly, Da Nang, along with Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Quang Ninh and Tra Vinh, has its environmental protection assessed at the good level, whilst 34 provinces and cities are evaluated at the fairly good level and 24 others at the fair level. 

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment proposed the municipal/provincial authorities, based on the ranking results, to come up with more effective solutions to enhance environmental protection efficiency in the coming time.
