Da Nang logs 765 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 14
Da Nang’s daily COVID-19 count rose to 765 on Friday, January 14, of which 499 were acquired in the community, seven in centralised quarantine facilities, 187 during at-home quarantine and the 73 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Below is need-to-know information on the community-acquired patients.
A total of 247 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the showcasing of suspicious symptoms.
Meanwhile, 115 infections were discovered by rapid testing conducted at ward and commune-level health stations.
Many infections were discovered at many local businesses via periodic tests, namely 45 at Matrix Company, 17 at Mien Trung seafood company, and a total of 20 at the Tan Long Paper Company, the Nittto Jokaso Co., Ltd., Halong Canned Food Joint Stock Corporation, and the companies of Poster, Huu Nghi, Pivina and TTTI.
In addition, there were 13 active cases reported at the Bai Bac beach eco-tourism area, one each at the Da Nang-based Naval Region 3 High Command and the municipal Department of Finance.
Also, 14 traders operating at the Cam Le Market, 19 at Con Market and seven at the Ky Dong Market were found.
Of the day’s active caseload, 696 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 131 in Son Tra, 127 in Lien Chieu, 125 in Thanh Khe, 118 in Cam Le, 88 in Hai Chau, 61 in Hoa Vang, 46 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Also on Friday, a combined total of 18,399 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 17,306 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 977,000 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 960,379 have got two doses, and 111,002 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 118 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 242 households with a combined total of 738 people under lockdown.
A total of 244people are being put under compulsory quarantine in seven centralised facilities.
