Da Nang mobilises resources to protect water sources
The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment on Thursday held a preliminary review of the implementation of the ongoing project ‘Join efforts to protect water resources' sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) over the past months.
As reported, after nine months of project implementation, despite facing many difficulties due to the negative impacts of COVID-19,the project implementation partners have focused on organising consultations, developing plans, conducting surveys, and implementing a number of activities.
By late this year, initiatives, models and recommendations for application and replication activities will be completed, whilst appeals for more investment flows from the general public will be made to realize the specific objectives of the project of building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city.
Also, a large number of communities and businesses will be encouraged to participate in the project implementation.
Specialised facilities under the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment shall develop plans, proactively and flexibly adapt to COVID-19 developments and coordinate with partners to implement project in an effective manner.
The USAID representative in Viet Nam pledged to continuously connect with organisations and partners to mobilise more potential resources to help the city perform its environmental tasks, especially implementing the contents under the project ‘Building Da Nang into an Environmentally Friendly City’ during the 2021 - 2030 period.
