Da Nang registers 310 new coronavirus cases on Jan. 7

Da Nang recorded an additional 310 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, January 7, of which 144 were acquired in the community, ten in centralised quarantine facilities, 130 during at-home quarantine and the 26 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.

Out of the 144 community-acquired patients documented on Friday, there were three employees infected with COVID-19 each found via swab sample collections for tests at the Matrix Cam Le company, nine small traders operating at the Non Nuoc Market, two others at the Tam Thuan Market, one member of COVID-19 prevention and control force in Hoa Chau Commune, one employee ach at the VN-Da Thanh Corporation and the Lovepop Viet Nam Co., Ltd., and three staffers at the Yokohama Technica company.

Meanwhile, the remaining community-based patients were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at district and ward-level medical stations, public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.

Of the day's newly count, 274 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.

Also on Friday, a combined total of 13,850 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 12,438 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 975,927 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 958,421 have got two doses, and 46,543 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 402 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 622 households with a combined total of 3,311 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 340 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in nine centralised facilities.
