Da Nang reports record high of 874 new COVID-19 cases on Jan.15
Da Nang’s daily COVID-19 count rose to 874 on Saturday, January 15, of which 617 were acquired in the community, eight in centralised quarantine facilities, 214 during at-home quarantine and the 35 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Below is need-to-know information on the community-acquired patients.
A total of 357 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the showcasing of suspicious symptoms.
Meanwhile, 59 infections were discovered by rapid testing conducted by ward and commune-level health stations.
125 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by themselves.
A total of 69 cases were discovered at many local production and business establishments via periodic tests, whilst two local police officers, one member of a local COVID-19 prevention and control task group, four traders operating at Quang Thanh and Thanh Vinh markets were confirmed to be infected with the disease.
Of the day’s active caseload, 812 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 223 in Son Tra, 149 in Thanh Khe, 133 in Hai Chau, 104 in Cam Le, 100 in Lien Chieu, 56 in Ngu Hanh Son and 47 in Hoa Vang.
Also on Saturday, a combined total of 16,586 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 14,277 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 977,234 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 960,575 have got two doses, and 112,867 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 144 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 523 households with a combined total of 1,169 people under lockdown.
A total of 216 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in seven centralised facilities.
