Da Nang's COVID-19 count remains high at 876 on Jan. 30

Da Nang documented 876 coronavirus infections on Sunday, January 30, of which 673 were found in the community, two logged at local centralised quarantine establishments and the 201 remaining ones found during at-home quarantine periods.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 348 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 252 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.

The remaining community-based patients consisted of 53 traders at the Moi, Nguyen Tri Phuong and Con markets, 10 returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities nationwide, two employees working at many local production and business establishments, seven members of COVID-19 prevention task group and one medical worker.

Cases with a high risk of further community transmission were recorded at all local districts: 135 cases in Lien Chieu, 131 in Hai Chau, 119 in Thanh Khe, 114 in Son Tra, 81 in Hoa Vang, 67 in Cam Le and 16 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Also on the same day, a combined total of 3,922 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 1,544 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, 2,169,219 shots of vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered across the city. Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab, whilst 961,771 have got the second dose, and 226,469 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.
