Da Nang's COVID-19 daily caseload climbs to 253 to on Jan. 4
Da Nang recorded a further 253 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, January 4, of which 100 cases were acquired in the community, 11 found in centralised quarantine facilities, 125 during at-home quarantine and the 17 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Of special note, these figures showed a fact that the city witnessed a rise in both the newly daily caseload and community-based infections in Tuesday as compared to the previous days.
Out of the 100 community-acquired patients documented on Tuesday, there were one infection found via swab sample collections for COVID-19 tests at the Matrix Company, another one at the A Chau Co., Ltd and three others at the Hoa Phat Steel Pipe Company.
Also, 23 patients were found to contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by themselves.
Meanwhile, the remaining community-based patients were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at some public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.
Of the day's newly count, 189 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.
Also on Tuesday, a combined total of 11,220 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 10,042 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 975,342 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 957,500 have got two doses, and 7,601 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 373 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 559 households with a combined total of 3,205 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 263 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 11 centralised facilities.
The day's new infections have pushed Da Nang’s total tally to 7,058 since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community transmission, 237 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide.
