Da Nang's COVID-19 daily caseload rises to 203 on Jan.2
Da Nang recorded a further 203 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, January 2, of which 91 cases were acquired in the community, six found in centralised quarantine facilities, 90 during at-home quarantine and 16 in locked-down residential sites.
Out of the 91 community-acquired patients documented on Sunday, there were 34 stall holders operating at the Non Nuoc market. Meanwhile, the rest were locals who were positive for the coronavirus through tests conducted at some public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.
Of the day's newly count, 166 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission.
Also on Sunday, a combined total of 5.654 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 4,752 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 975,342 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 957,500 have got two doses, and 7.601 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 378 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 719 households with a combined total of 3,686 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 316 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 13 centralised facilities.
The day's new infections have pushed Da Nang’s total tally to 6.646 since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community transmission, 220 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide.
