Da Nang's COVID-19 daily cases remain high at 888 on Jan.16
Da Nang’s daily COVID-19 count climbed to 888 on Sunday, January 16, of which 478 were acquired in the community, 12 in centralised quarantine facilities,362 during at-home quarantine and the 36 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Below is need-to-know information on the community-acquired patients.
A total of 285 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 163 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by themselves.
A total of 25 cases were discovered at many local production and business establishments via periodic tests.
Also, one member of a local COVID-19 prevention and control task group, two traders operating at the Con market and one police officer were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.
Of the day’s active caseload, 782 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 171 in Son Tra, 167 in Thanh Khe, 121 in Lien Chieu, 114 in Cam Le, 100 in Hai Chau, 72 in Hoa Vang and 37 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Also on Sunday, a combined total of 12,221 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 10,112 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 977,289 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 960,602 have got two doses, and 112,914 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 148 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 537 households with a combined total of 1,394 people under lockdown.
A total of 186 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in seven centralised facilities.
