Da Nang's daily coronavirus caseload reaches 433 on Jan.9, including 240 found in community
Da Nang registered 433 new daily COVID-19 infections on Sunday, January 9, of which 240 were acquired in the community, nine in centralised quarantine facilities,130 during at-home quarantine and the 54 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
The majority of the community-acquired patients logged on Sunday were detected through tests at district and ward-level medical stations, public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the displaying of suspicious symptoms.
In addition, a number of companies across the city also recorded community-based cases during their periodic testing for COVID-19 such as two cases at Cortex Company, ten at the Yokohama Company, two at the Foster Company, four at the Matrix Company, 18 at the TTTI Company.
Meanwhile, some traders in local markets were confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus, namely eight at the Bac My An Market, six at the Con Market, one at the Khue My Market and five at the Non Nuoc Market.
Also, a member of Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District was identified as a community-acquired patient.
Of the day’s caseload, 376 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission, specially 81 in Son Tra District, 74 in Cam Le District, 64 in Hai Chau District, 52 in Lien Chieu District, 47 in Thanh Khe District, 41 in Ngu Hanh Son District and 17 in Hoa Vang District.
Also on Sunday, a combined total of 11,227 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 9,937 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 975,999 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 959,057 have got two doses, and 72,100 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 190 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 457 households with a combined total of 1,557 people under lockdown.
A total of 336 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in nine centralised facilities.
