Da Nang's daily COVID-19 caseload climbs to 543 on Jan.11, community-based count sets new record high at 346
Da Nang’s daily COVID-19 caseload reached 543 on Tuesday, January 11, of which 346 were acquired in the community, eight in centralised quarantine facilities, 136 during at-home quarantine and the 53 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.
Out of the total community-acquired patients logged on Tuesday, 149 were detected through tests at district and ward-level medical stations, public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups or COVID-19 tests due to the showcasing of suspicious symptoms.
Meanwhile, 70 infections were discovered by rapid testing conducted by the staff of ward and commune-level health stations.
In addition, 12 patients coming to the Da Nang General Hospital for periodical dialysis were confirmed to contract the virus.
Also, 12 residents in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District were found to be infected with the virus via mass testing applied to household representatives, known as the ‘One Door-One Test’ approach.
43 traders operating in the Bac My An market, one member of the COVID-19 prevention force in Thuan Phuoc Ward, one medical worker at the Da Nang-based Hospital 199 under management of the Ministry of Public Security and another one at the Da Nang Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital were confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus via periodic testing.
Also, one active case of COVID-19 was found at the Da Nang International Airport.
Other community-based infections were discovered at many local businesses, namely 20 cases at the Company No. 28, six at the Da Nang Seaproducts Corporation, one at the Vina Foods Kyoei Co., Ltd, three at the Central Power Engineering Consulting Company Limited (CPCPEC), one at the Fujikura Company, 14 at the Huu Nghi Company, seven at the Matrix Company, one at the Pivina Company and three at SEADANANG.
Of the day’s caseload, 478 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 85 in Son Tra, 84 in Lien Chieu, 78 in Ngu Hanh Son, 76 in Cam Le, 64 in Hai Chau, 61 in Thanh Khe and 30 in Hoa Vang.
Also on Tuesday, a combined total of 17,999 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 16,649 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 976,008 have received the first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 959,072 have got two doses, and 82,467 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 202 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 482 households with a combined total of 1,639 people under lockdown.
A total of 299 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in eight centralised facilities.
