Da Nang's daily COVID-19 caseload remains high at 991 on Jan.26

Da Nang logged an additional 991 coronavirus infections on Wednesday, January 26, of which 721 caught the pathogen in the community, three in centralised quarantine facilities and the 267 remaining ones found during at-home quarantine periods.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 403 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 305 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.

As for the remaining community-based infections, six returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities nationwide, two employees working at many local production and business establishments, one member of a local COVID-19 prevention and control task group and four medical workers at the C Hospital were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.

Of the day’s caseload, 944 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts: 187 in Lien Chieu, 160 in Hai Chau, 158 in Son Tra, 152 in Thanh Khe, 129 in Hoa Vang, 98 in Cam Le and 60 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Also on the same day, a combined total of 12,523 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 6,117 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,790 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,494 have got two doses, and 222,085 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
