Da Nang's daily COVID-19 caseload slightly down to 892 on Jan.19

Da Nang documented 892 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, January 19, of which 560 were acquired in the community, four in centralised quarantine facilities, 302 during at-home quarantine and the 26 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 326 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 189 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/ commune-levelled medical stations.

Also 34 infections were logged at many local production and business establishments via periodic tests.

As for the remaining community-based infections, 10 returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide and one stall holder operating at the Nam O Market were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.

Of the day’s count, 796 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 277 in Son Tra, 163 in Thanh Khe, 137 in Lien Chieu, 122 in Cam Le, 94 in Hai Chau, 66 in Hoa Vang and 37 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Wednesday also witnessed a combined total of 19,823 residents across the city have their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 15,085 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 977,584 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,149 have got two doses, and 194,999 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 272 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 991 households with a combined total of 3,844 people under lockdown.

A total of 119 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in seven centralised facilities.
