The Da Nang Department of Construction has completed the ‘Building an urban spatial and planning database’ on the GIS system under the project ‘Building Da Nang into smart city’.

GIS is a system that creates, manages, analyzes, and maps all types of data. GIS connects data to a map, integrating location data (where things are) with all types of descriptive information (what things are like there).GIS helps users understand patterns, relationships, and geographic context. The benefits include improved communication and efficiency as well as better management and decision making.

For the time being, the Department of Construction is conducting the pilot operation of the urban spatial and planning database at https://gisportal.danang.gov.vn/sxd/ and applications on Android and iOS operating systems.

In order to ensure the project management and operation mechanism, the Department of Construction proposes relevant agencies, organisations and individuals participating in the construction planning to be in compliance with planning documents using AutoCAD files based on topographic maps of the VN2000 coordinate system (can be converted by software), ensuring the connection with the surrounding areas.

For dossiers’ components, it is a must-do to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of Circular No. 12/2016/TT-BXD dated June 29, 2016 adopted by the Minister of Construction and add an AutoCAD file to match to the database. Any problems must be promptly reported to the Department of Construction for timely handling.
