Further 964 coronavirus cases logged in Da Nang on Jan. 21

Da Nang’s daily COVID-19 caseload rose to 964 on Friday, January 21, of which 611 were acquired in the community, four in centralised quarantine facilities, 333 during at-home quarantine and the 16 remaining ones in locked-down residential sites.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 331 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 155 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/ commune-levelled medical stations.

Noticeably, a total of 101 traders operating at the Cam Le, Han, Moi, Hoa Cuong, Mieu Bong and Quang Thanh markets were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.

Also 11 infections were logged at many local production and business establishments via periodic tests.

As for the remaining community-based infections, 13 returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide were found to be infected with the virus.

Of the day’s count, 835 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts, especially 214 in Cam Le, 168 in Lien Chieu, 135 in Son Tra, 113 in  Thanh Khe, 109 in Hai Chau, 52 in Ngu Hanh Son and 44 in Hoa Vang.

Friday also witnessed a combined total of 13,266 residents across the city have their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 7,214 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,476 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 960,642 have got two doses, and 206,231 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 272 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 991 households with a combined total of 3,844 people under lockdown.

A total of 509 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in seven centralised facilities.
