The batch is part of the 42.5 million units valued at 2.5 million USD donated by the Government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) through the KOICA.

KOICA Viet Nam Director Cho Hans-Deog said the syringes aim to help Viet Nam accelerate its vaccine rollout and drive back the pandemic.

Last year, the Korean Government aided Viet Nam with 1.39 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines. The KOICA also provided the Southeast Asian nation with 300,000 antigen test kits in December.

In May, the RoK donated 40 thermal imaging scanners to Viet Nam, which have been installed at 10 airports nationwide.
