15 found dead, 2 still missing after boat capsizes near Hoi An shore
Up to now, 15 Vietnamese tourists have been found dead and two remain missing after a boat capsized off Cua Dai, Hoi An, Quang Nam Province. The search for the missing passengers is underway in a rush.
Currently, 37 rescue boats and more than 200 people are joining the search for the missing people at sea. In addition, two aircraft are assigned to assist in the search and rescue task.
The search scope has been extended to the waters off Duy Xuyen and Thang Binh districts in Quang Nam Province.
Functional forces are managing to base on tidal characteristics and apply the experience of fishermen to identify creeks and eddy areas in a great attempt to found the victims.
This particularly serious waterway traffic accident occurred happened on Saturday afternoon when the boat was carrying 36 tourists and three sailors from the Cu Lao Cham Island to Hoi An.
The capsized boat QNa1152 belongs to the Phuong Dong Tourism One Member Limited Liability Company.

The Cu Lao Cham Island, about 18 km away from the Cua Dai Port of Hoi An, is a major tourist destination. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the islands from the shore using motorboats.
