787 more cases and additional 2,176 recoveries reported in Da Nang on Feb. 14
Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ngo Thi Kim Yen on Monday stated that rising COVID-19 cases in the city has placed an even greater burden on local healthcare resources, thereby urging authorities at local level to maximize their performance to provide effective treatment for infected patients in a bid to reduce morbidity and mortality rates from COVID-19.

Mrs Yen highlighted the importance of home-based care for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms in order to reduce the burden on local health system. She also underlined the need for authorities at local level to use information technology to effectively manage COVID-19 patients under home-based isolation and care, as well as identify such patients in their locales in order to provide practical support for them to help them make a full recovery from the illness in their own homes.
Healthcare workers were tasked to continue to go ‘door-to-door’ in bid to reach the unvaccinated across the city.
Vice Chairwoman Yen highlighted the need to closely monitor patients with mild illness under home-based treatment in efforts to timely transfer those whose symptoms appear to be getting worse to the hospital.
Mrs Yen directed the municipal Department of Education and Training to issue guidance on handling COVID-19 cases in schools in order to keep schools safe and open during the pandemic.
A total of 2,176 infected patients in Da Nang on Monday were given the all clear, of whom, 2,030 were under home-based isolation and care while the remainder were under treatment at healthcare facilities.
On the day’s count, 146 patients were discharged from medical facilities following their recovery from COVID-19, including the Da Nang Lung Hospital with 13 recoveries, the Hoa Vang Medical Centre with 32 cases of discharge, the Field Hospital with 95 and the C Hospital with 6.
There are just 946 remaining active cases of COVID-19, including 219 ones require critical care, that are being treated in local healthcare facilities.
Also on Monday, a total of 1,361 COVID-19 patients ended home isolation after making a full recovery from the illness, of whom, 166 reside in Hai Chau District, 256 in Thanh Khe District, 247 in Son Tra District, 297 in Lien Chieu District, 312 in Cam Le District, 340 in Ngu Hanh Son District, and 412 in Hoa Vang District.
There are currently 10,722 asymptomatic patients and 4,676 others with mild symptoms that are being monitored and isolated to recover at home. Till date, the number of infected patients under home-based isolation and care across the city has reached 39,877, of which, 22,512 have made a full recovery from the illness.
To date, a total of 2,286,723 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the city. Overall, 981,584 people have received at least one dose, 966,043 people have been fully vaccinated, and 339,096 have received their third shot.
On Monday, another 787 confirmed cases were detected acros Da Nang, of which, 677 were found in the community.
