Cold wave conditions likely to prevail in Da Nang till weekend
An extreme cold weather alert for Northern Viet Nam and North Central Coast remains in place on Tuesday as temperatures are expected to drop 8 to 11 degrees Celsius, and 3 to 6 degrees Celsius in their mountainous areas. Frigid temperatures can be expected in Northern Viet Nam’s high mountains where can be as cold as below zero on the temperature scales with the chance of frost and snow for these areas.
Viet Nam’s National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting predicts light rain and severe cold conditions today for the parts from Quang Binh to Thua Thien, and temperatures in these areas can expect lows of 11 to 14 degrees Celsius.
From Tuesday night, the cold to severe cold wave conditions prevailing over Northern Viet Nam and North Central Coast are very likely to intensify in these areas till Thursday, the national weather service warns.
Rain is predicted across Da Nang until Wednesday. The cold wave conditions will continue to persist in Da Nang till Sunday. The national weather service forecasts no rain for the city Thursday into Sunday but temperatures in the city can expect lows of 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
