Da Nang logs 5,700 cases of medical examination and hospitalisation during 7 days of Tet break
From January 30 to February 5, the 7 days of the 9-day Lunar New Year (Tet) 2022 break, a total of 5,700 arrivals at Da Nang-based medical establishments for examination and treatment, according to Doctor Tran Thanh Thuy, the Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Health.
Specifically, out of the above-mentioned 5,700 visits, there were 346 emergency cases, 340 hospitalisation cases due to traffic accidents, one death, 30 cases due to personal conflicts, 576 cases of daily-life accidents, 4 accidents caused by firecrackers and 8 cases of food poisoning.
The remaining hospitalisation cases were mainly related to common diseases.
For COVID-19 prevention and control, during the 7 days of Tet, the city recorded 6,424 coronavirus cases, and 25,200 as accumulated from January 1 till now, including 342 returnees from other pandemic-stricken cities and provinces.
A total of 8,983 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after being given the all-clear, bringing the total to 18,715 since the beginning of the year.
The Da Nang healthcare sector has also implemented the Spring Vaccination Campaign under the direction of the Prime Minister, running COVID-19 vaccination sites during the Tet holiday.
As of February 5, a total of 2,169,351 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered to local residents, of whom 980,979 received the first shot, 961,902 got the second jab, 143,314 with the booster shot, and 83,156 with the additional dose.
In order to ensure medical work during the Tet break, the local healthcare sector has previously requested relevant medical establishments and units to prepare sufficient medicine, emergency resuscitation equipment and necessary facilities to be ready to treat patients, proactively deal with COVID-19 outbreaks, accidents, poisonings and possible mass emergencies.
