Da Nang offers 3-month waiver of social housing rent for locals amid COVID-19 impacts
The Da Nang government has recently decided to waive the rent for State-owned social housing apartments, terraced houses and student halls of residence
This humanitarian decision aims to help tenants get through the tough time triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, there are 7,353 people renting State-owned apartments are exempted from rent for 3 months: July, August and September 2021, with an exemption amount of more than VND7.7 billion whilst 4,411 others staying in State-owned dormitories also enjoy the 3-month rent exemption within the same period with an exemption amount of more than VND1.5 billion.
The Da Nang Centre for Housing Management and Exploitation now manages about 9,028 social housing apartments and terraced houses owned by the State, all of which are leased by those facing housing difficulties, including 1,401 civil servants, along with two students’ dormitories in the western and eastern parts of the city.
