Da Nang's COVID- 19 caseload slightly drops to 783 on Feb.1

Da Nang documented 783 coronavirus infections on Tuesday, February 1, of which 565 were found in the community and the 218 remaining ones were found during at-home quarantine periods.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 372 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 189 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.

The remaining community-based patients consisted of two members of COVID-19  prevention and control task forces, and one returnee to Da Nang from another coronavirus-stricken locality and one stall holder operating at the Lau Den Market, all of whom were confirmed to contract the coronavirus via periodic testing.

Cases with a high risk of further community transmission were recorded at all local districts: 106 in Hoa Vang, 98 in Cam Le, 97 in Son Tra, 94 in Thanh Khe, 92 in Lien Chieu, 58 in Hai Chau and 19 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Also on the same day, a combined total of 3,044 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 596 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, 2,169,219 shots of vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered across the city. Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab, whilst 961,771 have got the second dose, and 226,469 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.

Currently, a total of 110 people who are COVID-19 close contacts are kept in 5 centralised quarantine facilities.
