Da Nang's COVID-19 daily caseload on downward trend with additional 769 on Feb.3

Da Nang resgistered an additional 769 coronavirus infections on Thursday, February 3, of which 516 were found in the community, two at centralised quarantine establishments and the 251 remaining ones were found during at-home quarantine periods.

Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 355 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.

Meanwhile, 154 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.

The remaining community-based patients consisted of five returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities and two stall markets operating at local traditional markets.

Cases with a high risk of further community transmission were recorded at all local districts: 108 in Hoa Vang, 98 each in Thanh Khe and Hai Chau, 73 in Cam Le, 72 in Son Tra, 43 in Lien Chieu and 18 in Ngu Hanh Son.

Also on the same day, a combined total of 2,819 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 688 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Till date, 2,169,219 shots of vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered across the city. Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab, whilst 961,771 have got the second dose, and 226,469 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.

Currently, a total of 90 people who are COVID-19 close contacts are kept in 5 centralised quarantine facilities.
